In honor of Juneteenth 2023, join Chef Sharon Graves of BLVD Kitchen for an interactive cooking demo and discussion. We'll be making her famous Heritage Skillet Cornbread with Maple Butter. In addition to getting expert step-by-step tips for making this delicious recipe for your own family celebrations, you will also learn the fascinating backstory of this Soul food staple, from its ancient roots to its current day importance in African American culinary culture. Chef Sharon will also share a bonus recipe for the best fresh lemonade you've ever tasted!
About your Chef:
Chef Sharon Graves – Sharon, an award-winning baker and entrepreneur, is the founder and proprietor of BLVD Kitchen, a unique neighborhood cooking space in Los Angeles, and Mom in the Mail, an online purveyor of delicious homemade care packages. Her cookies and pies have won accolades from press and devoted customers alike, and through BLVD Kitchen, she has also mentored and helped launch other women and minority-led food businesses in Southern California. She and her team successfully took their unique cooking community virtual during the pandemic, and now offer fully interactive online culinary experiences to clients across the country.
