HBA SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA PRESENTS

HB8 Dine-Around Week: Discovering Your Path

Event description
Join HBA San Francisco board members Rosa Lau and Michelle Lerman for an engaging conversation on career goals.

At this jointly hosted dinner event, Rosa and Michelle will share their personal journeys, strategies for goal setting and continuing the path and the role the HBA has played. The discussion will center on the shifting healthcare landscape, each individual's role in the broader landscape and will offer ideas on building and achieving your personal objectives.

Rosa was introduced to the biotechnology industry as a publication designer for a subsidiary of Cardinal Health where she quickly embraced the field and discovered a wealth of career possibilities. Rosa explored an opportunity at Thoratec, a medical device manufacturer, now owned by St. Jude Medical. This successful and engaging experience brought her a vast skillset in the device-manufacturing environment. In 2005, she started her career at Roche Molecular Systems, where she currently works to implement internal business processes. Rosa also serves on the HBA San Francisco board of directors as director at larch, membership.

Michelle is a consultant and case team leader at Health Advances, a strategy research and consulting firm focused exclusively on the healthcare industry. Health Advances partners with senior executives and investors on their highest-stakes strategic decisions. Michelle leads the day-to-day activities on consulting projects that help clients realize growth opportunities worldwide for healthcare technologies, products and services. This engaging experience has provided her a "birds-eye-view" of the healthcare industry. She is also on the HBA San Francisco board of directors as director at large, membership.

HB8 Supper Clubs bring together small groups of eight HBA members and potential new members for a casual dinner at a local, midprice San Francisco bay area restaurant, hosted by an HBA board member or healthcare leader. In this intimate setting, you and up to seven other great women will have an opportunity to get to know each other in an informal, social environment and learn more about the HBA and share your experiences.

Predinner beverages will be from 6:00 to 6:30 PM to give you an opportunity to network with all your fellow diners. Dinner will then start at 6:30 PM. Out of respect for your fellow diners, please do your best to arrive on time. Also, do remember to bring business cards to take full advantage of the networking opportunities.

We'll take care of the restaurant reservation and logistics while you bring your curiosity and enthusiasm. You don't know exactly who you will meet, but it's guaranteed that you will meet some amazing women.

Note: This event costs $10 for members ($15 after the early bird deadline) and $15 for nonmembers ($20 after the early bird deadline) to cover administrative and chapter fees (charged at registration). Cancellations are appreciated at least 24 hours in advance. This would allow time to notify the next person on the waitlist. You are responsible for the cost of food and beverages. If possible, please bring cash (including small bills) to make splitting the check easier.
