HBA MUMBAI PRESENTS

‘Back to School 2026’ Drive by an NGO (Parijat, Mumbai)

Mission & Vision: In its 9th consecutive year, this drive supports distributing school bags and stationery to underprivileged students in remote rural areas of Maharashtra, India. To date, the campaign has benefited 22,939 students across 272 schools in 20 districts. The initiative focuses on fostering educational development in underserved communities, empowering students with essential resources, and giving wings to their dreams of learning and growth. Contributions support school stationery, bags, libraries, and access to clean drinking water.

Volunteer Experience & Learning Objectives: Social impact and community development will be key learning outcomes, offering insight into grassroots challenges in rural education. Volunteers will take part in a hands-on bag packing activity, assembling school bags with notebooks, pens, pencils, erasers, and other essentials that will be distributed to students. Through this experience, participants will see how small interventions can create lasting impact. The initiative also highlights how access to education—especially for girls—is a foundational barrier tied to broader health and equity outcomes.

By equipping underprivileged students, particularly girls, with essential learning resources, the program supports a future pipeline of empowered leaders in the healthcare ecosystem. Educated girls are more likely to make informed health decisions and contribute meaningfully to their communities. This initiative offers volunteers a chance to engage in purpose-driven service while fostering empathy, care, and leadership. It demonstrates how collective action can drive change and strengthen communities.
