Healthcare Technologies: Creating Advancement or Disparity?

Throughout the course of history, the development of new medical technologies have been highlighted within the framework of "progress." However, the ambiguity of medical "progress" and the extent to which it has been historically inequitable and racialized should task the medical community with reevaluating how we shape, define, manifest, and distribute the actualities of that "progress"--or the narrative of medical "progress." Hence, as we delve deeper into the age of technology, we should inherently nuance the role of medical bias, dehumanization, and stigma, for example, in helping to normalize disparity and inequity under the guise of technological objectivity. This webinar will begin that process and ask you to examine the intersection of subjectivity with the legitimization of technologically situated health disparities.
