Learning from the expert: Negotiating a job offer
The idea of this event is to help candidates evaluate a job offer they have received and to then negotiate (some of) its aspects. The main message is:
Always negotiate, it’s important for different reasons!
The focus goes from general comments via the different parts of an offer, recommended timing and
setting for negotiation, to tips and suggestions for negotiation, as well as recommended literature to
get even deeper information. From the author’s experience working as a recruiter for a global Strategy
Consulting Company in Barcelona and then at ESADE Business School’s MBA Career Service as
well as her current experience in Executive Search, there are real life examples of situations where
people have negotiated successfully – or could have done better.
