The HBA London Chapter Book Club

Online: Teams
Wednesday, April 26, 2023 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM   Add to Calendar GMT Standard Time

Reading has a significant number of benefits, such as mental stimulation, stress reduction, learning and acquiring knowledge, improving focus and concentration as well as helping to develop stronger analytical thinking skills. And you could gain even more if you discuss what you read with likeminded bookworms! So – why not give it a try right now? The purpose of our book club is to bring our members together to learn about and discuss topics that matter to them, encouraging critical thinking and deeper engagement through exchanging views on and debating the contents of the chosen book. Our book club is open to all HBA members, and you can join in as it suits you – every session is self-contained and there is no obligation to attend all of them. Our April session will take place via webinar on Wednesday, 26 April 2023 @ 6pm GMT – and the book we will be discussing is ‘Mindset’ by Dr Carol S Dweck (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Mindset-Updated-Changing-Fulfil-Potential/dp/147213995X/ref=tmm_pap_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=1675251368&sr=8-1). In her book, Dweck explains how changing the way you think can help you fulfil your true potential, and why it is not just our abilities and talent that bring us success - but whether we approach them with a fixed or growth mindset. With the right mindset, we can reach our own goals - personal and professional. Dweck reveals how a simple idea about the brain can create a love of learning and a resilience that is the basis of great accomplishment in every area. You can sign up via the usual process for HBA events and all you will have to do ahead of the session is to read (or listen to) the book. All are welcome and we look forward to discussing with you!
