Why Psychological Safety Matters in the Workplace

For this world mental health day, we want to talk about a topic that is sometimes underestimated. People in the workplace will need to feel safe to speak up, to give their opinion and to be themselves. It sounds as if this is an open door, but not many companies offer this space. There is research available from for instance McKinsey, on how leadership and a positive environment can foster psychological safety. We will also link it to the hybrid workplace that we are in currently.

This session will cover the theory around Psychological Safety, what it is, and also what it is not. We will talk about the importance of feeling safe in your work place, and how you can measure this. We will speak about how you can ensure your workplace is safe, irrelevant of which role you are in.
Another part is on practical tips what companies can do to ensure a safe space, by for instance including everyone in the team, and embrace diversity. This is also about people who have challenges with their mental health, how do you include these employees with just implementing simple adaptations in the way you hold your meetings for instance.

We offer a session with theory and background, practical tips, polls and key take aways to reflect.
