The Los Angeles area is aiming to join Boston and San Francisco as a major biotechnology hub in the United States. Los Angeles possesses the key attributes necessary to enable such a hub: major research institutions, established large and midsized successful biotech corporations, ambitious start-up companies, incubator space, venture funding and the talent to push progress forward. Efforts accelerated via the recent formation of BioLA, a newly formed organization working to foster growth in the life sciences area in Los Angeles and surrounding counties. Ventura County was once just recognized as the home of Amgen, but in recent years, smaller companies and venture firms have popped up in the area and excitement is building. Please come and join us to network and hear from a distinguished panel of local players dedicated to making the Los Angeles area the next major biotechnology hub.
