Simona is a strategic leader with over 20 years of diverse finance and business experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Simona is currently EVP and Chief Financial Officer at Tmunity, a cell and gene therapy biotech. Prior to that she was at Emergent BioSolutions, as vice president, finance and assistant treasurer, overseeing the financial planning and analysis and treasury organizations, and helped raise $450M in capital financing. Before joining Emergent BioSolutions, Simona spent 19 years at Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMS) most recently as executive director, head of global corporate financial planning and analysis. She started her career with BMS in 2000, and has consistently demonstrated strong leadership in a variety of finance roles of increasing responsibility within global manufacturing, mergers and acquisitions, research & development, enterprise services and US pharmaceuticals, as finance lead for the cardiovascular, neuroscience, diabetes and Puerto Rico businesses. Simona also worked at the board of governors of the Federal Reserve in Washington, DC and in banking in South Africa. Simona serves as vice-chair on the global board of directors of the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA). She has a BA in economics from Kalamazoo College, an MBA in finance from Columbia University, a Diploma in African Studies from the University of Cape Town and is a certified public accountant. Originally from Romania, Simona resides in Bethesda, MD with her husband, three active children and family dog. She enjoys travel, beach, exercise and family time.

Rae Livingston serves as AbbVie’s Chief Equity Officer. In this role, she leads company-wide efforts to address the issues of race, equality and diversity – both inside and outside of AbbVie. She previously served as Vice President, Business Human Resources, Corporate Functions and U.S. Employee Relations since she joined AbbVie in 2016. Prior to joining AbbVie, Ms. Livingston held several positions of increasing global responsibility with Rockwell Automation, where she most recently served as the vice president of human resources for headquarters functions, culture of inclusion and mergers and acquisitions. She also gained key experience in business human resources and mergers & acquisitions with Medtronic, Inc. and JP Morgan Chase, both in the United States and abroad. Ms. Livingston has served as board chair for the YWCA of Southeast Wisconsin and as a member of the executive committee. In 2021, she was recognized by Diversity Woman Media’s Elite 100 list, as one of a hundred extraordinary Black women executives changing the face of corporate America. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University and is a certified senior professional in human resources (SPHR).

Prior to her current role, Carol was Chief Quality Officer/Vice President of Quality & Compliance for the Johnson & Johnson Medical Device and Consumer businesses. Previously, Carol spent 18 years in the Johnson & Johnson Medical Device and Diagnostic (MD&D) sector with roles in several franchises and across multiple functions. Carol was Worldwide Vice President of Quality, Regulatory and Compliance for the Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics (OCD) Franchise. Prior to OCD she was Worldwide Vice President of Regulatory Affairs for the Diabetes Franchise and Vice President of Quality, Regulatory and Compliance for Animas Corporation. Prior to joining Animas, Carol was Director, Quality Systems and Compliance for Ethicon-Endo Surgery. Prior to EES, Carol held multiple roles at OCD including Manager, Regulatory Affairs and Operations Director. Prior to joining J&J in 1994, she was with Baxter Diagnostics in Switzerland. Carol holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology from the University of Evansville and an MBA from the Pennsylvania State University Smeal College of Business.
