HBA SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA PRESENTS

HB8 Supper Club - Table Talk with Aruna Ayer

In celebration of International Women's Day, we present this series of table talks on topics of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Join one or more of these small group events for an intimate discussion on current event topics with leaders across different organizations.

Challenging the status quo is a mindset shift which you can bring about by being conscious about how things operate today – and by proposing a new and better way of doing things.

Aruna Ayer joined Roche as Principal Scientist in 2014 and currently works as Director of Research & Early Development at Roche Diagnostic Solutions. Her team provides protein engineering and sample prep expertise for improving accuracy, read length and yield of the Roche Nanopore Sequencer.

Aruna got her PhD degree in Cellular and Molecular biology from University of Texas at Austin and her bachelors degree in Biotechnology from Anna University in India. She did her post-doctoral research at Stanford University and Oregon Health Sciences Institute, primarily focused on protein structural biology. More recently, she received an executive certification in entrepreneurship from Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Aruna is passionate about scientific innovation, collaboration, diversity & leadership development at work. While not working, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
