HBA NORTHERN NEW JERSEY PRESENTS

The 25th Hour: Navigating Homeschooling & Work Balance

Given the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic in the U.S, individuals have been confronted with a host of personal and professional challenges. Employees continue to face obstacles balancing work and family responsibilities, navigating their career paths with limited face-to-face interactions, and establishing and growing their executive presence and leadership skills, remotely.
The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the growing crisis in America, the caregiver gender gap. As the pandemic persists women continue to leave the workforce at alarming rates and those that remain face the increasingly difficult task of attempting balancing work, family, and personal needs. All of this has left many women to wonder “How do I find a 25th hour in the day?”

Many women are also challenged with caring for aging family members and sometimes remotely, simultaneous managing virtual schooling and virtual business meetings. In recent months, have you found yourself in one of the following situations:
• Put your colleagues on hold while trying to get your child to comply with virtual learning?
• Had a toddler interrupt your Zoom call?
• Helped your parents look for vaccination opportunities during your lunch break?

Join NNJ's The 25th Hour: Navigating Home Schooling & Work Balance forum for the “Sandwich Generation” focusing on the complexities facing families in today’s environment. It is a channel to unite us, and an opportunity to share our daily life insights, identify lessons learned, and brainstorm solutions to common challenges.

The aim is to reinforce the HBA’s core goals to strengthen members’ networks, make new connections, and generate new ideas related to personal and professional life.

Collectively, as the local, state-wide, national, and worldwide HBA community, we can learn from each other and thrive together. These sessions will reinforce the HBA’s core goals to strengthen women’s networks, make new connections and generate new ideas related to personal and professional life.
