HBA BASEL PRESENTS

How to handle difficult conversations and conflict situations

HBA Basel in collaboration with KVALITO invites you to an engaging workshop, facilitated by Carl Emerson, on handling tough conversations with skill and impact.

Social isolation, quarantine, the prevalence of AI, and increasingly virtual relationships have all put pressure on the human element of our interactions. Sometimes, we don’t even know if we’re truly talking to a human! This can leave us uncertain about what is real, what we can influence, and how to navigate everyday conversations. As a result, it’s easy to get out of practice—yet we still have to engage with others, many of whom may not be skilled communicators.

Whether it’s a meeting with your boss, a job interview, a casual interaction in the street, or addressing a microaggression in an email, these challenges are everywhere. They can contribute to stress, fatigue, and general dissatisfaction.

In this story-led workshop, facilitated by Carl Emerson, we will explore the critical elements of effective conversation. We’ll examine what drives conflict—big or small—and discover strategies to navigate each interaction while remaining authentic, sustaining meaningful impact, and achieving the visibility and success needed in today’s evolving environment.
