HBA ST. LOUIS PRESENTS

Women and executive presence: using improvisation for impact and influence

Event Details
Join Karen Hough, founder and CEO of ImprovEdge, for a high-energy, interactive experience on executive presence, and how women do or don’t leverage their impact. The presentation will uncover gender issues, as well as four improv secrets that can radically improve your leadership capabilities. Improvisers think on their feet and manage extremely well in risky situations. The surprise is that the little-known techniques of improvisers can create incredible performance and build trust for leaders, teams and organizations. Using humor, exercises, and case studies, Ms. Hough will teach immediately useable skills to improve how others perceive you, improve communication and build better relationships; good relationships are everything in business.

Ms. Hough will draw real life examples from her work as an internationally recognized speaker and entrepreneur. She is the recipient of the silver International Stevie Award for Most Innovative Business of the Year 2012, and the Athena PowerLink Award for outstanding woman-owned business. Ms. Hough is also the author of the #1 Amazon bestseller “The Improvisation Edge” and her second book launches in May 2014, “Be the Best Bad Presenter Ever: Break the Rules, Make Mistakes and Win Them Over.”  She has also written numerous articles and blogs for publications such as T&D (ASTD magazine), Mashable.com, BusinessInsider.com, Collective Magazine for Women, BusinessPundit.com, and is also a contributor to the Huffington Post.
