The Myth of “Fit”: Managing New Leader Risk

There are few executives who don’t feel some anxiety when bringing new hires on board, these roles bring pressure for near immediate performance. Getting a great hire is only the start. Consider how the successful launch of a New Leader resembles your company’s risk management process. Done well, both identify potential problems, map out mitigation strategies, and work to optimize outcomes.

While Risk Management is usually a rigorous, data-driven operation, in on boarding, complexity and challenges are overlooked or underestimated. This in attention to risk has serious consequences –for both new hires and their employers. This session will open your eyes to hidden transition risks waiting for your new hires, and help you understand why “fit” is mythical –and something we must construct. You will walk away with insight, tools, and strategies so you can anticipate and offset risk. And give your great hires the strong start they deserve.
