HBA OLD FLORIDA PRESENTS

2016 HBA Florida Chapter Group Mentoring Program Kickoff

Emerging leaders, get ready
Are you ready to set aside time for your professional growth and development? Are you ready to learn from experts, leaders and colleagues? Are you ready to make 2016 a year of exponential growth?

Experienced leaders, get ready
Are you ready to give back to your profession? Are you ready to share your secrets of success with emerging leaders? Are you ready to make a difference in the lives of emerging leaders?

Structure:
This group mentoring program runs from April - November 2016. In it, one mentor is matched with two to three mentees, all of whom share a common area of focus. Groups function independently - typically meeting once a month - with each team setting its own meeting agendas, times and locations.

Registration includes:
     •    Mentoring program book and resources
     •    Mentor Training webinar
     •    Mentor/Mentee Program Kickoff webinar
     •    Six months of group mentoring sessions
     •    Year-end celebratory event

Mentor or mentee?
Mentees are emerging leaders or those who seek to enrich or reignite their current career/position. They are open to new ideas, perspectives and experiences and are ready to stretch, take risks and leverage resources to set and achieve the goals they set in this program. Mentees should have a strong sense of their career or professional development needs and be able to identify one or more areas in which they would benefit from mentor (and fellow mentee) support. They must have time to “do the work”-that is, prepare for group meetings, fully participate and apply what they’ve learned.  Mentees must be able to commit to the full length of the program (April-November).

Mentors are experienced leaders with significant expertise in the healthcare industry or related services. Mentors are willing to share of themselves—relaying stories and anecdotes from their own careers, recounting successes and failures, offering ideas and approaches, and identifying tools and connections. Mentors should have at least 10 years’ experience in a director-level or higher position in pharma or 15 years’ experience in a senior management position (e.g., SVP, EVP, managing partner) in a pharma-related service organization or industry. Mentors have worked with and developed both individuals and teams. They have a keen sense of their strengths and the ability and experience necessary to guide their mentees. Mentors must be able to commit to the full length of the program (April-November).

Applying for the 2016 group mentoring program is a two-part process:
 1. Mentees and mentors register for the program via the link below; Mentees pay the mentee course fee now*
 2. Complete the mentor or mentee application survey, which will be sent to applicants via email immediately following this registration.
*Applicants must complete both this registration process and their application survey to be considered for the program. Any applicants not assigned to a mentoring group in 2016 will be notified via email and their course fee will be refunded in full.

Mentees must be HBA members.
If you are accepted into the program as a mentee, elect to participate, and are not a current HBA member, you must join the HBA by April 12, 2016.

• The HBA annual membership fee is separate and distinct from the mentee course fee.
• The HBA annual membership fee is not refundable (so make sure you have been accepted into the program and have made the decision to participate before joining).

Consult your manager or HR department now to see if reimbursement will be provided. Find out more about the value of membership and the annual nonrefundable membership fee here
