Woman of the Year (WOTY) Webcast in San Francisco

Nearly 2,000 leaders across the industry will celebrate this year’s honorees during the 28th annual Woman of the Year (WOTY) event in New York City and now you can share the experience.

Join HBA San Francisco for the simulcast of the Woman of the Year (WOTY) event live from New York City. In addition, senior leaders from Genentech, Deloitte, MyoKardia and Bayer will be live in-person providing their perspectives on the transformational impact of women in healthcare and how G.R.I.T. (gratitude, resilience, influence and tenacity) has personally contributed to their own success. You will also have the opportunity to network with local peers and leaders throughout the morning over breakfast. Come get inspired by the showcase of amazing women and men who are dedicated to furthering the advancement and impact of women in the business of healthcare.

Information about this year’s award winners:
The HBA is pleased to announce that our 2017 HBA Woman of the Year is Bahija Jallal, PhD, executive vice president, AstraZeneca, and head of MedImmune. MedImmune is the global biologics research and development arm of AstraZeneca. Bahija will be introduced by Pascal Soriot, executive director and CEO, AstraZeneca. Alex Gorsky, chairman and CEO, Johnson & Johnson, and 2009 HBA Honorable Mentor, will introduce the 2017 HBA Honorable Mentor Joaquin Duato, worldwide chairman, pharmaceuticals, Johnson & Johnson. In addition, Carolyn Buck Luce, senior managing director, Hewlett Consulting Partners LLC, managing partner, Imaginal Labs LLC, and 2012 HBA Woman of the Year, will introduce the 2017 HBA STAR Ceci Zak, principal and COO at Batten & Co. Also lauded at the live event will be a group of some 100 Rising Stars and Luminaries, noted for their accomplishments and contributions to the healthcare industry, also will be presented at the Woman of the Year event.

The HBA Woman of the Year event, which attracts women and men from throughout the healthcare industry, showcases the HBA’s core purpose of furthering the advancement and impact of women in the business of healthcare.

Special instructions

Bring a valid government issued ID for security. Across from Building 82, there is a multi-level parking structure that will be available for all WOTY attendees to park. There will be signage to help find the parking structure. In the parking structure, there is no cost and no parking permit required.

Charity donations
Women helping women is important to the HBA, so we have partnered with Dress for Success and Elizabeth House in collecting donations supporting these charities during the event. A list of items needed is presented below. In addition, there will be a jewelry vendor onsite donating 10% of their profits to these charities, and all proceeds from raffle tickets will go directly to Dress for Success and Elizabeth House. Please join us in supporting these charities and women in need.
