HBA SEATTLE PRESENTS

Advocating for Women Through Advances in Women's Healthcare

Though it has been 20 years since the National Institute of Health recognized gender disparities in health research, there continues to be striking disparities between women and men in health outcomes. Many diseases strike women at a higher rate. Some diseases that are more prevalent in men, like lung disease, are more deadly in women. CMS reports that women account for 56 percent of total personal healthcare spending, and that higher rate increases as women age, since women tend to live longer. A panel of experts in women's health will address key issues such as treatment for chemical addiction in pregnancy and how business partnerships can advance women's healthcare.
