Why Women Need A Champion for Career Development: Strategies to Build A Sponsorship

We continuously talk about the importance of woman being represented in the workplace. But we see a leaky pipeline, as there are more women than men in the workforce when they first enter the workplace. But as you go up the career ladder women start to disappear until few are left for top roles.

Sponsorship is critical to support women who need visibility and access to high-impact executive roles. Sponsorship can provide statistically significant benefits for higher profile assignments, pay raises and promotions; however, very few women have sponsors. Studies have shown that there is a direct relationship between the dearth of women in leadership positions and the scarcity of female sponsorship.

Come learn from our speaker and panelists:
• What is important in sponsorship and how does it work?
• Strategies to build and ask for what you want in a sponsorship
• Stories of how sponsorship has benefitted others
• Know the importance of everyone participating in the sponsorship role
