Join the New England Fit to Lead Affinity Group and our panel of exceptional athleaders for Overcoming Obstacles and Breaking Through.

Emily Abbate is on a mission to empower women to live healthier, happier, more motivated lives. The host of NYT-acclaimed podcast Hurdle (3.4M downloads and growing), she chats with everyone from elite athletes to top CEOs about their highest highs and toughest moments. She’s also a freelance journalist and wellness coach, penning health and fitness content from GQ and Well+Good to Women’s Health.

Dr. Rebecca Hammond is a pro obstacle course racer and graduate of Harvard Medical School. An NCAA All American in outdoor track and field in the 1500m, she later placed second in both Spartan World and OCR World Championships in 2018. She was “The Harvard Hammer” on Million Dollar Mile (CBS 2019). Dr. Hammond begins psychiatry residency at Stanford this year and is interested in mindset and behavior.

Amy Huchthausen is the first female commissioner of the America East Conference. The NCAA Division I league represents student-athletes at 10 schools in the Northeast. Amy has elevated the conference’s profile through progressive media and technology partnerships while being a leader in diversity, equity & inclusion throughout her career. Amy earned her MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management.

Nika Ouellette is a former javelin thrower and strength coach-turned-sports scientist. Captain and All-American at UVM, Nika later competed in the 2016 Olympic Trials, and placed 4th in 2017 and 6th in 2018. She is Head of Sports Science for Perch, which uses MIT-developed technology to improve athletic performance, and is an ambassador for Athlete Ally, elevating LGBTQ+ inclusion in sports.
