HBA PHOENIX PRESENTS

Confident Boundaries: A Self-Defense Workshop for Professionals

Join the HBA Phoenix and the Fingerpaint Group, along with Jeff Hazel and John O'Hagan, Jiu-Jitsu instructors with Gracie Arizona Jiu-Jitsu Academy, for an interactive, hands-on workshop focused on practical boundary-setting skills you can use immediately in the workplace and in everyday life.

Through realistic scenarios, participants will practice recognizing situations early, setting clear verbal and physical boundaries, and responding confidently to unwanted physical contact before it escalates. The workshop is designed to build confidence through practical techniques for creating space, staying in control, and safely disengaging.
Participants will learn how to:

• Recognize potential boundary violations early
• Set clear verbal and physical boundaries
• Respond to unwanted contact and personal space intrusions
• Break free from common grips and grabs
• Create space, de-escalate, and safely exit a situation

No prior experience is necessary. The workshop is appropriate for all fitness levels and focuses on building confidence—not fighting. This event is sponsored by the Fingerpaint Group.
