San Diego HBA Supports San Diego Food Bank: Giving Back Fuels Leadership Diversity
The San Diego HBA Chapter has the opportunity for twelve members to volunteer together for a three-hour shift at the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank on November 27th, 2024 (1-4 pm). The Food Bank comprises the largest hunger-relief organization in San Diego County and, by partnering with nearly 500 nonprofit partners with feeding programs, the Food Bank provides nutritious food to individuals and families in need in communities throughout San Diego County.
The goal for this event, San Diego HBA Women in Healthcare Give Back, is to foster this concept by continuing to build a strong community of women in healthcare so that one day the makeup of our leadership truly reflects that of the global population; proving that if we give back together, we will grow together -- and lift the world together.
The shift lasts about three hours and involves a variety of projects. Volunteer projects may include, but are not limited to:
• Cleaning and packaging fresh produce for immediate distribution.
• Inspecting, sorting, boxing, and labeling food donations.
• Assembling food packages for our Senior Food Program, Moms & Children Food Program, Emergency Food Assistance Program, and our Food 4 Kids Backpack Program
Register now and save your spot. After October 28th, we will send you an email with further instructions on how to register for this event via the San Diego Food Bank, with specific details.
