Women Opting-In For Change

While people know things in society are not right, we often “don’t know what to do” to create change and/or find ourselves overwhelmed and opting-out. We live and work in segregated spaces so our complacency and apathy are normalized by those around us. We have thought “racism” and “white supremacy” don’t apply to us; that being nice and a “good person” exempts us from being accountable.

Join us as we hear from three accomplished women–three perspectives—one a woman of color and two white women. The two white women believed they were allies, only to realize they lacked an inclusive awareness and an accountability that led them to "do the work”—to dismantle the racism within themselves and their spheres of influence.

• THINK (Complicity) – Few people have stopped to think and really examine the narrative of our history, race relations and the economic, business and corporate diversity implications of their unconsciousness.

• FEEL (Whiteness) – Through the raw and honest personal stories told from a Woman of Color, a privileged white friend and a privileged white colleague, our guides on this journey share the impact of white supremacy culture and how it keeps us living in two separate realities and worlds.

• ACT (Human) - Our current times call for an immediate fast tracking of racial literacy, stamina and introspection that is new to most people—learn how to embark on a personal transformation journey that engages white women in the work of dismantling white supremacy culture.
