HBA TAMPA AND HBA NY TRI-STATE REGION PRESENTS

Understanding a company's strategy through their financials - for non-finance professionals

Over the past year, not only have we had a pandemic, but many people have changed jobs or have been promoted to greater responsibility. With that new role, budgeting and a general understanding of financial statements and corporate strategy are a must! Obtaining a financial foundation quickly is a valuable tool for strategic planning and decision-making. Grab your lunch, a notepad, and a pen, and join us to increase your financial acumen through the examination of financial reports and the introduction of common terms and concepts.

Today's session will be presented by Justin Claeys, Vice President of Finance and Treasurer for Amgen since March 2020. Previously, he was the head of finance for Amgen’s Europe region based in Zug, Switzerland. He joined Amgen in 2002 and has held a series of roles of increasing scope and responsibility. This includes leading the Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis and R&D Finance groups as Executive Director Finance. Justin has also held positions in Investor Relations, Commercial Finance, and supporting Amgen’s Product Strategy Teams. Prior to joining Amgen, Justin spent six years in management consulting, primarily with PricewaterhouseCoopers within the Applied Decision Analysis group.
