Mindfulness and Self-Compassion: Quick Wins For a Stressful Year

How does mindfulness actually work in the brain and body, and generate self-compassion? Arden Pennell will introduce two tools that you can begin using to immediately boost your well-being and resilience: mindfulness and self-compassion. During this extraordinarily challenging year, we are invited to become ever more skillful at finding “quick wins” – small, easy ways to restore ourselves in the midst of busy, stressful lives.

This program will introduce scientifically proven practices of self-awareness. In this highly interactive and experiential session, participants will practice various techniques and learn best practices for starting and maintaining self-compassion. You will learn how this practice can bolster performance and well-being inside and outside the workplace.

Arden Pennell fosters a high-performing culture of awareness, purpose, and compassion at Ultragenyx Pharmaceutical, as a director of organizational development. Previously, she was a professional speaker and facilitator working with organizations including Google, Facebook, Fidelity, Genentech, Pfizer, Nestle, EY and others. She has designed content for and spoken at conferences including TechCrunch Disrupt, The Culture Conference, IGNITION, Venture Summit Silicon Valley, and others.
