Event details
The HBA San Francisco chapter presents our annual Executive Women's Breakfast continuing the career journey theme by addressing the stepping stones to a board role. This is an opportunity to share experiences while networking and learning about the related experiences of others. The speakers will exchange experiences and give advice on productive and functioning boards, and perhaps a few anecdotes and war stories from the board room. Through case studies (materials provided in advance) and interactive discussion with a panel of experienced board members and company executives we will bring board room dynamics to life. Key BOD learnings include governance vs. strategy v. tactics; role of the chair; management interactions with BOD; CEO interactions with the BOD; when things are going well; when things are not going well.
Learning objectives
1. Determine how to position yourself for a board role
2. Appraise and analyze the qualities of a functioning and productive board
