HBA CAREER TRANSFORMATIONS AFFINITY GROUP AND HBA GLOBAL PRESENT

Career Coaching Corner: Writing the Next Chapter of Your Career

We are giving our members what they asked for after our successful Fireside Chat on making a Career Leap. If you want actionable items to help you pivot, then join the HBA Career Transformations Affinity Group for a live coaching session and career journey panel. In this session, Susan Shenberger, seasoned Pfizer executive and talent coach, will explore the nearing of her corporate retirement, or as she likes to call it “re-wirement,” and will look to further explore the possibilities in her next career chapter. With Susan’s permission, Jennifer Paster Detmer, MBA, CPCC, ACC, certified leadership and career coach, will coach Susan live for a short coaching session to allow you to walk with her on her journey of exploration. Witness and support Susan on a path of self-discovery to understand better what she wants, recognize and/or overcome hurdles, and identify what the next step is to serve her goals. If you never have a career coaching session done before, you will want to attend this event.

Following the live coaching demo, we will invite you to join us for a brief panel with Jenn, Susan, and fellow healthcare executive, Javaneh Abbasian. Javaneh Abbasian is the current Chief of Ophthalmology at the Jesse Brown Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center and is writing a different chapter of her career novel. She will share how she is exploring career and leadership in her current chapter and has made some powerful changes to invite more fulfillment into her everyday work and the chapters to come.

During this session, we hope you learn from their openness on their journeys, take away some powerful questions to ask yourself, and connect with others that long for fulfillment in their career.

Learning Objectives:
• Experience how powerful questions and curiosity can unlock the answers from within you by witnessing someone being coached
• Take home some powerful questions to ask yourself as you navigate a path toward career fulfillment
• Learn and be inspired by others who are successfully taking steps toward career fulfillment
