Webinar details
How do you balance risk and benefit in the decision-making process, especially in today’s uncertain and rapidly changing business environment? What role do interpersonal and team dynamics play? What affects our ability to make decisions and how can “hesitation to decide” be overcome? Tune into this webinar to learn more about the key elements of decision-making and their application.

The HBA is pleased to welcome James C. Felli, PhD to this conversation. Dr. Felli is a research fellow at Eli Lilly and Company, where he is developing new decision-making tools and engaging in applied research. Prior to joining Lilly, he served as associate professor of decision science with the Defense Resources Management Institute of the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California. Dr.Felli is a fellow of the Society of Decision Professionals and an active member of the Decision Analysis Society of INFORMS and the Decision Analysis Affinity Group. His work has been published in a variety of journals including Medical Decision Making and Decision Analysis.

Joining Dr. Felli in this discussion is Paula Brown Stafford, MPH, president of clinical development at Quintiles where her global responsibilities include Quintiles Phase I-IV services, including medical and project management; site, data and safety monitoring; laboratory services; and functional resourcing. In addition to her role at Quintiles, Ms. Stafford is a member of the HBA advisory board; board chair of CDISC (Clinical Data Interchange Standards Consortium); and member and vice president of the foundation board of the Gillings School of Global Public Health at UNC-Chapel Hill. A biostatistician by training, she was named as one of the 10 top women in biotech in 2012 by FierceBiotech, a leading online industry publication.

Moderating this conversation is Catherine U. Foley, strategic leadership development portfolio manager and a member of the Global Leadership Development Group of Talent Management at Eli Lilly and Company. A past president of the HBA Indiana chapter, Ms. Foley consults with four of Lilly’s business units on leadership development. She also serves on the leadership team of the Lilly Women’s Network, connecting members to professional growth opportunities outside of the firm.
