Event details
Trends in Healthcare are putting patients at the center of the healthcare system. Technology and other market forces are enabling patients to take more responsibility for their healthcare decisions. Patients are increasingly being impacted by healthcare costs and are demanding higher value.
On the provider side, the change from fee-for-service to fee-for-value is reshaping the delivery of healthcare. Providers are increasingly made accountable for healthcare coordination and treating the patient as a whole. The expansion of accountable care organizations (ACO) and patient centered medical homes (PCMH) are clear examples.
These major forces require changes and adjustments to business models and organizations. And more importantly, while they bring some challenges, they also lead to new business opportunities.
This event will provide insight into what different players in the healthcare system are doing to succeed in this new environment; what they expect from each other, and how they are turning these changes into opportunities, both for businesses and for patients.
Join us for a discussion with industry leaders including Dr. Sharon A Henry, vice president, head of global medical advocacy at Bristol-Myers Squibb, Chris Martini, president, network solutions at PatientPoint, Dr. Leroy Nickles, chairman of the department of emergency medicine at Pocono Medical Center, and Dr. David E. Wilcox, independent consultant. Event introduction will be made by Dr. Joseph Barone, dean of the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy at Rutgers University and panel will be moderated by Dr. Michael Toscani, Research professor/director, Rutgers Institute for Pharmaceutical Industry Fellowships.
