HBA OLD CHICAGO PRESENTS

HBA Chicago Year-End Event

Think of LinkedIn as your online resume? Think again. It’s the conversation you have with someone before having a conversation—unless they don’t like what they see and never bother to reach out.

At this workshop, you’ll learn more than the 10 biggest mistakes most professionals make on LinkedIn (so they don’t attract the right people or actually turn them off). We’ll spend time strengthening your profile during this session—so bring a tablet or computer and be ready to work. Then you’ll walk away at the end of the night with a clear idea on what to do next.

During the event, you will also have the opportunity to have a professional profile picture taken, including access to make-up artists and clothing and jewelry stylists, so you can look your best.

You will also have a chance to give back to the community by making a donation clothing to Dress for Success. Dress for Success is an international non-profit that empowers women to achieve economic independence by providing professional attire to help women thrive in work and life. Please consider bringing an item from your closet that could see new life and help a woman in need.

We’re requesting professional attire, all sizes; 0-4, 16 and up and in-season most needed.
Tip: If you wouldn’t wear it to a job interview or for the first day of work, please do not donate it.
Please bring all items clean on hangers.
• White blouses/shell tops; all sizes; 14 and up most needed
• Trench coats/jackets – for Fall
• Handbags/pursues – high need
• Office-appropriate shoes, all sizes; sizes 9 and up and wide width most needed
belts, jewelry and scarves
Tax receipts for your donation will be available.

Finally, to top off the evening's events, we will announce the annual awards for our wonderful members. Please be sure to submit your nominations.
Please remember to bring your laptop, smartphone or tablet so you can work on your profile in real time.

The volunteer engagement committee would like to thank all the members and volunteers of HBA Chicago for making 2017 a fantastic year for the HBA.
