The role of telehealth in two fields: genomics and senior care (Episode 4.0: Healthtech Series)

HBA San Francisco Bay and HBA Seattle have teamed up to launch a series of lightning discussions to understand the future of healthcare in correlation with technology. Join us for these interactive conversations with trailblazing women who are ushering a new era of healthtech.

As part of this series, Kristin Ashcraft will speak to the role of telegenomics in improving access to genomics care to drive precision medicine and value-based care forward. Cheryl Porro will speak to solving telehealth for senior care, the role of telemedicine for emergency health issues resulting in improved patient care and in avoiding unnecessary hospitalizations for the senior populations.

This event will review how telehealth has come into play in two different fields of care, genomics and senior care, in ways that have reduced gaps in access and supported improved clinical outcomes.

Kristin is the Chief Operating Officer at Genome Medical, a privately-held venture-backed telegenomics company. Kristin focuses on collaborating with the executive leadership team to create the long and short-term strategy for the organization and establishing key performance indicators for the company to drive toward in making the strategy a reality.

Kristin has spent over half her career in the healthcare industry at companies ranging in size and maturity from start-up to the Fortune 500. Kristin holds an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management and a BA in Biology and Environmental Science and Policy from Duke University. In addition to serving as a board member for WISER International, Kristin has advised several biotech start-ups, is a proud member of Chief and is on the Alumni Board for UCLA Anderson School of Management.

Cheryl Porro is currently CTO of Curve Health. She has decades of experience building and leading world-class product and engineering teams. She combines her focused and driven execution with a passion for advancing the health of people and planet. Cheryl spent 13 years at Salesforce.com and Salesforce.org building platforms and industry-leading products that helped grow multiple business lines into 100Ms+ in annual revenue. She’s led technology teams for Amazon, DigitalThink, and Thrive Global.
