Webinar description
HBA is pleased to welcome Herminia Ibarra, PhD to the ninth webinar in the Career Conversations series. Herminia is the Cora Chaired professor of leadership and learning and professor of organisational behaviour at INSEAD. Prior to joining INSEAD, she served on the Harvard Business School faculty for 13 years. Her article, “The Authenticity Paradox,” was the cover story for the January/February 2015 issue of the Harvard Business Review. She is the author of Act Like a Leader, Think Like a Leader (HBR Press, 2015) and Working Identity: Unconventional Strategies for Reinventing Your Career (HBR Press, 2003). Herminia speaks internationally on leadership, talent management, and women’s careers. A native of Cuba, she received her MA and PhD from Yale University, where she was a National Science Foundation Fellow.
Providing an executive healthcare perspective to this discussion is Terri Pascarelli, CEO and member, board of directors, AIT Bioscience. Prior to joining AIT Bioscience, she was vice president of client development for YourEncore, Inc. Her background includes executive leadership roles as president and COO of a venture-backed, Indiana-based pharmaceutical company and for a privately held Midwest medical laboratory. She has also held leadership roles in strategy, sales and marketing, managed markets, R&D and commercial operations at Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Roche Pharmaceuticals and AstraZeneca. Terri earned her BS in pharmacy from Rutgers University and holds a MBA from Pace University. She is a past president of the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association and, in 2003, founded the HBA Indiana chapter.
Moderating this conversation is Laurie Lucas, principal of L3 Healthcare Marketing. Laurie has held executive leadership positions in medical education and communications companies including Discovery Chicago, where she was vice president/group account director and at ProEd Communications, where she was executive vice president. Laurie is director at large, chapter programming, membership and volunteer engagement on the HBA board; prior to that, she served on the board of the HBA Chicago chapter.
