HBA INDIANA PRESENTS

CANCELLED: The Guided Tour for Reinvention (3 part workshop series)

Event details
You used to love your job, but now you find yourself looking at the clock all day. The fun and the passion are gone. What's next? You have no idea. You've been thinking about a lateral move to a completely different department, but that seems too risky, even if the company would let you do it. There's a new project team you'd would like to join, but only if you are given some freedom. Perhaps you want to advance your career with a promotional opportunity that seems out of reach. Is it worth the effort? The scenarios are limitless.

This workshop is designed to help you figure out what's missing in your career and how to find it. When people are enthusiastic about work, they can achieve amazing things. Yet, when people disengage, it leads to poor work performance, decreased productivity, dissatisfaction, and even health problems.  Whether you want a career overhaul or just a few tweaks, this workshop is for you!

Great things happen when women come together. This workshop is a safe haven to discover, question, and develop your customized, actionable plan that will lead you towards a happier life and career.  Through individual exercises, group reflection, real time coaching - mixed in with some great laughs, aha moments, and realizations, this workshop is a retreat you deserve to experience. Come join us because you deserve to enjoy your career and love your life!

Caroline Dowd-Higgins, author of “This is Not the Career I Ordered,” and host and producer of the upcoming public television series of the same name has developed a powerful message which has helped thousands of women find greater satisfaction in their work and life. Her work forms the basis of this workshop and will give you the means to clarify your goals and re-ignite the passion for your career.

The workshop consists of three sessions:
• Clarify how you see yourself and your work history through exercises that help you to identify roadblocks to success as well as your aspirations and goals. Self-reflect and gain objective feedback about your VIPs that is values, interests, personality, and skills, through a variety of assessment and reflection tools.
• Develop a plan so you can take charge of your work and life and increase your engagement by identifying achievable goals and specific steps you can take to get there. Accountability matters—so I will incorporate vehicles to help you stay on track long after the workshop is over.
• Discover realistic and implementable strategies for work and life integration so you can actually enjoy your career and love your life.

Along the way we will provide insight into increasing personal effectiveness and helping you build equity at work and offer tips regarding the mind-sets and behaviors associated with exceptional performance.

In order to maximize your time in the workshop, you will be required to complete pre-work which will prepare you to fully benefit from the sessions.

Learning objectives
1. Listen to your own inner voice and gain an understanding of how the story it tells has influenced your career choices; to revise your story to create a mind-set of empowerment
2. Walk away with a firm grasp of your VIPS (values, interests, personality and strengths)...and how these aspects of your individuality must be integrated into your work and life in order to be engaged and productive
3. Discuss specific strategies to increase work/life integration and effectiveness
4. Develop a go-forward plan you can design your unique goals and tangible, achievable action items to help you move forward
