HBA SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA PRESENTS

Rescheduled: HB8: Join Mia Nease on Building Resilience in the Face of Adversity - San Mateo

This event has reached capacity and is now offering a wait list registration. This wait list does not confirm your attendance. In the event that a registrant cancels their attendance for this event, you will be notified by the chapter representative for the HB8 dinner program via email. The wait list is managed on a first-come, first-served basis. Any participant who is moved from the wait list to a confirmed attendee will still be responsible for their event costs, which will be administered by the chapter at the time of the event.

Mia Nease, head of commercial at Arivale, will lead a discussion based on Sheryl Sandberg's recent best seller, Option B. We all face adversities in life; whether it's a lost job or promotion, a significant life change or the death of a loved one. The discussion will center around how we handle these situations in the workplace, including accessing tools for post traumatic growth.

Mia Nease joined Arivale from PwC, taking on the role of head of commercial. Arivale sits at the crossroads of all of her passions: breakthrough technology, data, science, wellness and coaching. Born in Australia and raised in Slovenia, Mia is a global citizen who has spent the last 20 years focused on accelerating top line revenues for the companies she works for. Her entrepreneurial spirit has led her from running Dell Computer’s mining, oil and gas operations in the west Australian outback; to pioneering the new client-facing HP software strategy in New York City; to promoting PwC’s life science offerings, across all lines of service in San Francisco Bay. Mia graduated from Macquarie University. She is an avid marathon runner, mountaineer and snow skier, who also serves on two non-profit boards, where she furthers her passions around social justice, diversity and inclusion.

We take care of the reservation and logistics and you bring your curiosity and enthusiasm. Registration fee covers administrative and chapter costs.  Participants are responsible for their food and beverage costs. Out of respect for your fellow diners, please do your best to arrive on time.
