HBA PHILADELPHIA PRESENTS

From Molecule to Market: Accelerating the Transformation of Healthcare

Please note: This event will still be held despite the inclement weather. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please reach out to the chapter contact.

Now more than ever, Greater Philadelphia is leading the way as a pioneer in healthcare innovation and commercialization. 80 per cent of US pharmaceutical companies have a presence in the region, which also boasts a world-class network of medical research institutions, 15 major health systems, leading clinical research organizations and an expanding investment in biotech.

In 2018, The American Society of Clinical Oncology named CAR-T cell therapy (pioneered here in Philadelphia by a group of scientists, from the University of Pennsylvania) as their “Advance of the Year”. In December of 2017, research in Philadelphia resulted in the FDA’s approval of the first gene therapy in the U.S. to target a disease caused by mutations in a specific gene.

What will 2019 hold?

Join HBA Philadelphia to learn how new approaches to technology transfer and collaborative partnerships are driving the future of medicine and improving health outcomes from the bench to the bedside.
