HBA NEW ENGLAND REGION PRESENTS

Evidence-Based Panel on Addressing Gender Stereotypes

Women make up more than half of the US labor force and earn almost 60% of advanced degrees. Yet, they are paid less and represent a fraction of the C-suite. Further, research suggests that women are more likely to apologize, underestimate their abilities, and less likely to accept praise and take credit for their work, especially in team settings. On the other hand, assertive and confident women may worry about backlash. How might this affect women's prospects for promotion? How do gender stereotypical behaviors affect women’s career paths? Join HBA New England iLead and a panel of academic and industry leaders to explore these and more complex stereotypes and associated behaviors. Help us discern and learn how we can empower passionate, talented women to pursue and succeed in fulfilling careers.
