Webinar description
Networking can help you develop and build alliances, expand your sphere of influence and help you get a seat at the table. Join this webinar and learn five specific best practices you can put to immediate use to deepen your connections, raise your professional profile and increase your visibility.

HBA is pleased to welcome networking strategist Andrea R. Nierenberg to the fifth webinar in the Career Conversations series. She is founder and president of The Nierenberg Consulting Group, a sales and marketing consulting firm focused on teaching communication skills to build reputations and success. The author of seven business books including “Essential Networking -- Tips, Tools and Tactics You Can Use” and “Network Like You Mean It -- The Handbook for Business and Professional Networking,” both released in January 2014, Ms. Nierenberg has taught business development courses to undergraduate and MBA students at the University of Chicago, Washington University, and New York University.

Joining Ms. Nierenberg is Michael C. Kaufmann, CEO of the Pharmaceutical Segment of Cardinal Health. Mr. Kaufmann joined Cardinal Health in 1990 as a controller and has held a number of senior operational, sales and finance roles with the organization since that time. He serves as executive sponsor of the Cardinal Health Women’s Initiative Network, and his support of women leaders in healthcare led to HBA naming him its 2012 Honorable Mentor. He is also a recipient of the “2013 Guys Who Get It Award” from the Institute for Women’s Leadership. Mr. Kaufmann is a current member of the HBA Advisory Board.

Moderating this conversation is Laurie Wessels, president of the Wessels Group. Ms. Wessels specializes in educating and coaching current and future leaders in the principles, practice and skills of successful and sustainable leadership. She works closely with the Executive Coaching Institute as a senior trainer and a mentor coach. Prior to coaching, she spent 15 years in the pharmaceutical industry. She is a past president of the HBA Chicago chapter and a member of the HBA Career Conversations team.
