Event details
Let’s face it: emotions are messy. They can cloud our judgment, skew our views and can seriously damage our professional and personal relationships. Our greatest business challenge, however, may not be facing our competition but rather learning to face and effectively manage emotions in the 21st century.
This session will examine how we can increase our potential for handling and, perhaps, even capitalize on messy emotions as they are central to how organizations operate, why consumers buy or do not buy our products and services, and lie at the core of our humanness.
Based on Dr. Baxter’s own research and practical experience with working with emotions and EI in business, this presentation looks at how emotions can drive and deliver successful outcomes and how, when properly managed, can drive trust, loyalty, commitment, productivity and innovation. Participants will also learn what emotional intelligence (EI) is and is not; how it contributes to effective leadership, and considers whether EI looks different when exhibited by the two genders.
