HBA SAN DIEGO PRESENTS

HBA Supper Club - Networking for Success

Networking has all kinds of connotations. Some people feel butterflies in their stomach, some see it as awkward and artificial while others feel energized. The true value of networking doesn’t come from how many people you meet, but how many people you can connect. Networking involves a mind shift you need to be authentic, honest and emphatic and give back without an expectation of getting something in return. With so many social platforms, we no longer have the luxury of walking into a room without people knowing about us. It is important to make sure the footprint you leave is authentic. Sunny Al-Shamma, CEO, Beacon-Discovery, will lead a discussion on the value of networking. Sunny has more than 20 years of drug discovery experience in the biotech industry. Prior to Beacon, Sunny was vice president, discovery biology at Arena Pharmaceuticals and director of biology at Maxia Pharmaceuticals.

We take care of the logistics; you bring your curiosity and enthusiasm. This event costs $15 for members to cover the administrative and chapter fees (charged at registration). This fee is nonrefundable. Cancellations are appreciated at least 24 hours in advance. This would allow time to notify the next person on the waitlist. You are responsible for the cost of food and beverages. Moderately priced (entrees, beverages, tax and gratuity, average $25 range).
