HBA OLD OHIO PRESENTS

Girl Rising - A Global Campaign for Empowerment of Girls' Rights to an Education

It is hard to imagine the enormous challenges that so many girls face in this world to simply receive an education, so watching the Girl Rising documentary is an eye opening and powerful experience. Please join us for an evening that you will never forget.

Girl Rising is a global campaign for the empowerment of girls’ rights to an education. Why? Because a girl who completes basic education is three times less likely to contract HIV. Because a child born to a literate mother is 50% more likely to survive past the age of five. Because educating girls can break cycles of poverty in just one generation and help their communities thrive. And yet, millions of girls around the world face barriers to education.

We hope to enable young women around the world to become champions of their rights to learn, and the necessity of receiving an education. Please take two minutes out of your day to watch the documentary trailer.
