HBA LOS ANGELES PRESENTS

The Power of Perception: Leadership, Emotional Intelligence and Gender

Women account for more than half the U.S. labor force and 60% of college graduates in the U.S. and Europe. Given these statistics, a natural shift to gender-balanced senior management should be a reasonable, expected outcome.Yet women hold only 5% of CEO positons at S&P 500 companies.Research has identified an individual's emotional intelligence (EQ) as a key aspect and driver of leadership effectiveness. EQ assessments have found men and women to be strong in different areas.

Additional factors, such as how men and women are raised in different cultures, contribute to men and women approaching virtually every aspect of business differently. Different approaches result in different perceptions which have a significant impact on promotion, especially women. Join Dr. Andrews and HBA to learn practical strategies for career advancement within this context, and identify approaches to building a more diverse and inclusive workplace.
