2016 Leadership Institute – exclusive leadership training event for HBA Chapter Boards

Please note the 2016 Leadership Institute will take place from 5pm Friday, February 5 through 5pm Saturday, February 6.

Your 2016 HBA chapter board position provides a wonderful opportunity to expand your professional reach and influence. HBA’s Leadership Readiness program is designed to ensure a smooth and effective transition into your 2016 board role. The “Leadership Institute”, a key component of this program, offers a unique opportunity for you to meet, learn and connect with 200+ HBA leaders from around the globe.

This invitation only event is available to all 2016 chapter board members and will be held in Atlanta beginning Friday, February 5 at 5:00 PM and finishing Saturday, February 6 at 5:00 PM.  The Leadership Institute will provide leaders with best practices for each functional area, problem solving techniques and board readiness training based on individual level of board experience. The agenda is as follows:

Friday evening – “Connect, Share, Grow"
1. Intimate networking – where you can meet and connect with all HBA chapter leaders
2. Chapter showcase - feature your successes and learn from others
3. Leader and chapter recognition to celebrate accomplishments.

Saturday – “Influence and Impact"
1. 2016 kickoff – HBA strategy, direction, key initiatives, calendar of events
2. Chapter assimilations – facilitated meet ups to strengthen alignment across your chapter leadership team
3. Board effectiveness training – breakouts offering professional development to support your personal success in your board role
4. Functional training and cross chapter relationship building – area specific breakouts to review roles and expectations; create 2016 objectives; showcase innovative ideas and opportunities

Cost and registration
There is no registration cost to attend the 2016 Leadership Institute. Advance registration for the LI is required by 12:00 PM ET, January 21, 2016.

Regarding lodging and travel: Attendees are responsible for making their own travel and lodging arrangements. To reserve your hotel room using the HBA block of rooms, please click here to make hotel reservations online. To book by phone, please call Sheraton central reservations at 1-800-833-8624. Make sure to reference ‘Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association’. The expiration date for making reservations at the HBA group rate is January 21, 2016 at 5:00 pm local Atlanta time (ET). Attendees booking in the HBA room block will receive complimentary in-room wireless internet.

All agreed-to reimbursable expenses are to be submitted to your chapter Treasurer for processing. If needed, HBA central will provide reimbursement to the chapter for one night lodging for each attendee (Friday night) as long as your reservation is made utilizing the HBA room block. Please plan to arrive in time for the 5:00-6:30 PM registration and pre-dinner networking on Friday evening. Saturday’s event wraps up at 5:00 PM.

Leadership directory
All attendees will receive an HBA leader photo directory, an invaluable tool during and after the event as your network swells by 200+! We plan to use HBA profile photos (or LinkedIn headshots if profile photo is blank) to create the directory. You are welcome to send in an alternative professional photo. To do so, send a headshot to kcammer@hbanet.org by January 8, 2016. That photo must meet the following resolution requirements:

Photography Policy
By registering for this event, you acknowledge that you may be photographed, videotaped, and/or audio-taped during the meeting and hereby give permission for your image, voice, or survey comments to be used in education, training, promotion, and/or trade and communications media by the Healthcare Businesswomen's Association in any and all media throughout the world, without restriction as to frequency or duration of usage.

The HBA requires that all persons who participate in in-person events do so at their own risk and that each participant agrees to the following agreement before taking part in the activity and urges all participants to act in such a manner as to protect their own safety and the safety of others.

By registering for this event, I fully understand that my participation in the program is purely voluntary. I desire to participate and agree to act reasonably and prudently under the circumstances. I further understand that any HBA volunteers participating in the activity will act individually and will not represent the HBA. As a condition to my participation the activity, I waive and release the HBA and their officers, employees, and agents from any claim that I may have for any damage to property or injury to my person that may result in whole or in part from my participation.
