Over the next two decades, an estimated $84 trillion will move through the largest wealth transfer in American history, and most of it is moving into the hands of leaders. What rarely gets discussed alongside that number is the work attached to it: the legal, financial, medical, and personal responsibilities that come with inheriting assets, settling an estate, or stepping in to manage a parent's affairs.
