HBA LA Chapter Book Club

The HBA LA Chapter Book Club is designed as a collaborative experience where healthcare professionals come together to explore ideas, exchange perspectives, and grow as leaders — not just by reading, but by actively engaging with one another. We’ll begin our journey with “Atomic Habits” by James Clear, a practical and thought-provoking framework that explores how small, consistent actions can drive meaningful change. Together, we will use the book as a foundation for discussion, reflection, and application to real-world leadership experiences.

Each session will be structured yet interactive — incorporating guided discussion, reflection exercises, and insights from the Atomic Habits workbook. The intention is to move beyond theory and translate ideas into small, actionable shifts that strengthen how we lead and collaborate. This book club is also designed as a shared leadership platform. While the first session will be facilitated to set the tone and structure, future sessions will create space for participants to step in, lead discussions, share experiences, and shape the conversation. It is an opportunity not only to learn, but also to practice leadership in a supportive and engaging environment.

As we move forward, we will co-create the journey together — from selecting future books to defining how we want to engage, what formats work best, and how we bring our learnings and experiences into each session. The goal is to build something that is both meaningful and enjoyable, where everyone feels a sense of ownership and contribution. This initiative is intentionally welcoming, practical, and leadership-focused — a space where a varied perspectives are welcomed, ideas are explored openly, and professional growth is supported through community.

As an HBA LA Chapter member, this book club offers a place to connect, contribute, and grow alongside peers in healthcare. This is where leadership is not only discussed, but experienced — one conversation, one insight, and one shared moment at a time.
