Understanding Personality to Expand Your Leadership Influence
In today's complex business environment, technical skills alone are not enough to drive success. True leadership requires a deep understanding of human dynamics, both within ourselves and among team members. This presentation looks at personality through the lens of the Enneagram and presents practical strategies for deepening self-awareness and elevating your leadership capabilities.
The session begins with an introduction to the nine Enneagram personality types and the centers of expression. Participants will be presented with descriptions of how the different types instinctively solve problems and how they engage with others to get their needs met. Through self-reflection, participants will get an idea of which type or types resonate for them and have an opportunity to discuss their observations in breakout groups and an open Q and A.
Moving beyond theory, the presentation will challenge participants to move from reactive patterns to conscious choices through a simple yet powerful framework: Notice, Pause, and Choose. You will learn practical strategies for deep listening, practicing curiosity, and experimentation, allowing you to hypothesize someone's primary type and tailor your communication style accordingly. Participants who stay until the end of the presentation will be led through an exercise to create a personal action plan.
