Fireside Chat with Susan Childs: Thriving amid the Challenge of Workplace Dynamics
Join the Career Transformations and Mosaic Leadership Collective Affinity Groups for a discussion on how to identify harmful factors that lead to exclusion - and how to take action to move yourself and your organization forward.
McKinsey’s annual global workplace studies over the past decade have consistently shown that multi-cultural executive teams with a global mindset are 36% more likely to outperform their peers in profitability and key decision- revenues, making innovations. Similarly, Boston Consulting Group’s European research reveals that organizations with multi-cultural leadership experiences achieve 19% higher innovation with nearly equal levels of employee retention and performance creativity. Despite these findings, many mid-sized and well-known larger companies are leading the way with workforce reductions of 25%-50% specifically in their people and culture teams, with the US federal government having a large impact in 2025. And when you considered that many of these same companies are found all over the world, the experiences inside of these workspaces will have extreme variability with a wide range of relational behaviors showing up as inappropriate, hurtful and harmful.
Join industry-leading business strategy and workforce dynamics expert, Susan Childs, as she discusses recent changes in the workplace landscape, their impact on organizations and personnel, and what this means for your career. Susan will share real-world examples of performance-diminishing behaviors, including microaggressions and other disengagement experiences, to help you identify these acts in real-time and understand different approaches to address them, whether it was done by you, to you or observed as happening to someone else.
Susan Childs, an expert in workforce engagement and leadership, has had a distinguished career in human resources with global companies such as Takeda, MedImmune, Disney, ESPN, and HSBC. She now leads her own consulting firm, LCA Consulting and Business Services, where she helps companies prioritize people-first atmospheres that align with business strategies, innovative solutions in a manner that ensures impactful business growth and high levels of employee engagement and retention.
Join us for this enlightening discussion on advocating for yourself, building actionable techniques and navigating a career, life and community that celebrates the best in all of us.
