Readers Are Leaders: Conversations that Inspire, Connect, and Lead
What does it take to “expect to win” in your career and leadership journey? Join us for the inaugural Readers Are Leaders program, presented by the Southeast Region and the Women of Color Affinity Group, featuring renowned author, speaker, and Wall Street executive Carla Harris.
Carla will set the stage with 10–15 minutes of powerful insights from her acclaimed book, Expect to Win, sharing her hard-earned “pearls” of wisdom on navigating careers, leading with authenticity, and building influence. But this isn’t a lecture—it’s an engaging, interactive experience designed to spark conversation, connection, and community.
After her opening remarks, Carla will moderate the discussion, guiding attendees through thought-provoking questions that draw from key themes in the book, such as:
- How can you build and sustain confidence in high-stakes situations?
- What does sponsorship look like—and how can you cultivate it?
- How do leaders create value by lifting others as they climb?
You’ll have the opportunity to connect in small groups, share your own perspectives, and explore how these themes resonate in your personal and professional journey. This program is designed for networking first—a chance to meet fellow members, exchange ideas, and leave inspired with new relationships and actionable insights.
Whether you’ve read the book cover-to-cover, skimmed highlights, or are coming in fresh, you’ll gain valuable takeaways from Carla’s facilitation and from the diverse voices of your peers.
This is the first chapter in the Readers Are Leaders series, which will periodically feature inspiring authors and thought leaders. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to connect, learn, and lead—together.
