HBA AMSTERDAM AND HBA ZURICH-ZUG PRESENTS

Webinar session #2: Detecting Bias in Artificial Intelligence

When AI makes decisions...

Artificial intelligence (AI) is changing the world we live in. While being predicted to bring enormous disruption in the next 5 to 10 years, it has already become quite common in our day-to-day lives, especially in the sectors of healthcare, recruitment, economic modelling, and education.

... how do you know it is free from bias?

AI is a human invention. As humans are innately biased in their decision making we can see their AI creations falling under the same fate.

To tackle bias, you need to be aware of the existence of a wide range of biases and understand its sources.

In this HBA-hosted and EY-facilitated series of webinars we explore bias in AI in detail. The first session was held on 25 November 2020 (you can see the session here, https://my.hbanet.org/My-HBA/Product-Details?productid=%7B4E281742-5D44-EB11-8110-000D3A0DE1A1%7D ) and covered several real-life examples, applications, and impact of bias in AI. Now we will take a closer look at how to detect bias in AI.

You will leave the second of the three webinars with

• an understanding of how bias can be identified by applying a structure approach – the AI Solution Lifecycle
• an overview of ways to mitigate bias in the solution design based on an exemplary use case
• a strategic perspective to avoid bias starting at the source – your data

This event will be presented by EY and industry experts.
