HBA CHARLOTTE PRESENTS

Steeped in Strength: The Physiology of High Performance

What does it really take to perform at a high level when life asks more of you?

In Steeped in Strength: The Physiology of High Performance, Dr. Tina Medley Galloway brings together health science, psychology, behavioral science, and her own experience as a new mother and executive leader to explore what high performance looks like when the demands of work and life collide. Through an engaging and personal conversation, Tina will explore how stress, recovery, and our physiological responses can shape the way we think, make decisions, respond to pressure, and show up for the people who depend on us. She will also share how becoming a mother has challenged her to reconsider traditional ideas about strength, productivity, and what it means to perform well.

Rather than focusing on simply doing more, this conversation invites participants to think differently about sustainable performance, recognizing their own responses to stress and developing practical strategies for navigating high-demand seasons of life with greater intention.

Dr. Tina Medley Galloway, DHSc, MS, is President of the HBA Charlotte Chapter, Vice President Client Executive at Optum, healthcare researcher, behavioral strategist, and proud new mother. With more than 20 years of healthcare leadership experience and advanced training in health sciences and psychology, she specializes in leadership development, workforce transformation, behavioral science, and healthcare innovation. Her research focuses on the intersection of human performance, resilience, and AI-enabled workforce development. Dr. Galloway is passionate about helping professionals lead with purpose, strength, and sustainable excellence.
