HBA MID-ATLANTIC REGION PRESENTS

Fit to Lead Journey Program

Have you always wanted to do something significant.. really big.. like a marathon or a triathlon? Have you considered doing one of these but didn't know where to start? What if you had a group to go on that journey with you? To help guide, coach and mentor you? A group totally committed to an amazingly exciting and incredibly scary goal? Are you in?

Join us and discover the connection between fitness and leadership and how can it can help you both personally and professionally.

The Fit to Lead Journey is a mentoring program done in the context of a fitness event, not across a desk. It is an exciting way to develop leadership competencies in yourself through physical fitness.

This four-month program includes everything you need for success: a training calendar, guidance from a triathlon coach, nutritionist and sports psychologist and peer support. There is a combination of in-person meet ups and teleconferences which provide tips and techniques from our experts; opportunities to share breakthroughs and breakdowns with each other; and leadership circles where we discuss and discover the connections between fitness and leadership. Throughout your journey, you will discover these connections, grow as a leader to advance your career and expand your network with like-minded women.

Journey members will be asked to participate in one, common event: Steelman Triathlon on 12 August at Nockamixon State Park, a beautiful setting. This event provides lots of options for you to participate at a level you choose. You can do all three sports in a full triathlon, just swim and bike ('aqua bike') or be part of a relay team doing just one of the sports. You choose your challenge.

Please note: The journey registration cost does not include the registration fee for the triathlon, duathlon or aquabike event. Journey team members need to register and pay for the event they choose, pricing varies per activity. It also does not include the cost for optional group workouts and meetups. These may cost up to $25 each and are offered individually as they are arranged and will be held in the Greater Philadelphia area.

Journey Agenda:
• Kickoff event – 21 April: 9:00 AM - 12:30 PM - In-person meet-up, training, planning (Wayne Art Center, Wayne PA)
• Bi weekly teleconferences, 1st and 3rd Monday evenings, 8:00 – 9:00 PM (16 April through 13 August)
