HBA OLD GREATER PHILADELPHIA AND HBA OLD MID-ATLANTIC PRESENTS

Moving from Elevator Pitch to Catch: Helping Others Understand Who You Are and What You Do

Have you ever been at a loss for words when describing your work to others, or have you caught yourself using too much technical jargon when speaking to someone outside your field? Communicating concisely who we are and what we do can be a particular challenge for women in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), however the tools we will identify and practice in this workshop can be used by anyone. Join business coach Michael O’Brien as he explains how women in STEM can talk about who they are and what they do in a way that connects with others. Michael will break down the art of networking, from building your personal story to calming your nerves in a sea of unfamiliar faces. Come prepared to begin crafting your own personal story with Michael's step-by-step guidance and then practice your delivery. By the time you leave, you'll have the building blocks in hand to successfully navigate any networking situation.

This program is presented by HBA Greater Philadelphia and HBA Mid-Atlantic Women in Science affinity groups, and is sponsored by DePuy Synthes and Benchworks.
